In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel's Vice President of Games Production for Marvel, TQ Jefferson talks about the comic company's break with Sega for future tie-in games, and how the acquisition by Disney has changed how future Marvel superhero properties will translate into games in the future.

More information after the jump.

Sega won't be making any new Marvel games for a while—that's the key takeaway from Jefferson's terse but firm response to the reporter's question about whether Marvel would be dealing with the publisher in the future. Reviews for the Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America tie-in games weren't great, and after Arkham Asylum upped the game for licensed superhero titles, you have to imagine Marvel is having a rethink about who's handling their library of characters.

When asked about the tie-in to The Avengers, Jefferson directed attention to the recent launch of Marvel: Avengers Alliance on Facebook (our preview here). However, Jefferson did promise more announcements on the Avengers game front, explaining that they wanted fans to enjoy the characters "regardless of their preference in gameplay style or platform."

Finally, Jefferson discussed the upcoming Marvel MMO, Marvel Heroes being developed by Gazillion. Comparing it to DC Universe Online, Jefferson allowed that one of the major differences between the two titles is that Marvel's was built from the ground up to be F2P, explaining that this creates a lower barrier to entry, something he feels is much more attractive to gamers in the current economy.
